Prof. Thomas J. Holt is a criminologist, studying cybercrime and cyberterrorism for the last three decades. He is the director and Professor at School of Criminal Justice, Michigan State University, USA. He received his PhD in 2005 from the University of Missouri Saint Louis. His current research focuses on the practices of illicit market operations on the open and dark web, the practices of extremist groups operating in online environments, and the police response to various online threats. His work has appeared in various journals, including British Journal of Criminology, Crime & Delinquency, Criminology & Public Policy, and Terrorism & Political Violence. In addition, Dr. Holt's research has been funded by the Australian Research Council, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Justice, and the National Science Foundation. He is a senior policy analyst at Global Foundation for Cyber Studies and Research, USA.
